Sample Ballots

May 22, 2018  Joint Primary Runoff Election
The Democratic and Republican Parties choose their candidates in a primary election.  The Green and Libertarian Parties choose their candidates in party conventions.  Texas has open primaries.  That means that all Texas voters can participate in one of the these primaries.  When the voter enters the polling location they will have to disclose to the poll worker which primary they would like to vote in.  Once a voter has voted in one party election, that voter cannot participate in another party's election or convention for that primary year. Once a voter votes in a particular party's election, they must continue with that party in a runoff election (cannot vote in other party's runoff election) for that calendar year.  Voting in a particular primary does not commit you to vote for a particular candidate in the general (November) election.

If you did not vote in the Primary Election, you are still eligible to vote in the Primary Runoff Election
